 Purpose
The
purpose of SEL University is to teach protection, monitoring, control,
and automation of electric power systems.
SEL University Overview
The electric power systems of utilities and industry are changing. Some
of the forces of change are deregulation, new technology, environmental
issues, and customer demands for higher quality at lower costs. SEL University
provides opportunities for people to learn how to design, install, operate,
and maintain systems for protection monitoring, control, and automation.
Our courses cover theory, concepts, technology, and practical applications
in many areas important in our changing industry. The fundamentals courses
provide solid foundations such as symmetrical components, pilot schemes,
fault resistance coverage, and signal processing. The product series of
courses teach you how to apply SEL products in practical, cost-effective
solutions and how to get the most out of the products and systems. Product
courses are hands-on experiences.
SEL University chooses instructors from inside and outside SEL. They are
people who are experts who love to share their knowledge and have proven
talents to do so. SEL University offers scheduled courses in Pullman,
WA and at many other locations. On a personal note, I enjoy both teaching
and learning at SEL University and look forward to seeing you in a course
