SEL-3351 System Computing Platform

Commission the SEL-3351 where you need the power of a 1.1 GHz Pentium® M processor system in a Window XP Professional Operating System. Use the resources of built-in optical or copper Ethernet links with Modbus® TCP/IP, Telnet, and FTP.

Installed and in use across the world at pharmaceuticals, manufacturing plants, chemical plants, mining sites, oil refineries, utilities, hospitals, educational facilities, and others.

Commercial / Industrial / Government Systems:

Deploy the SEL-3351 in oil, water, gas, chemical, steel, manufacturing, coal mining, logging, and environmental applications as a SCADA interface and rugged HMI for plant/remote locations, running your favorite HMI.

Use the SEL-3351 that require versatile power supply ranges and conformance to industry standards in harsh environments. Remote sensing, unattended data collection, and emergency response hardware are a few of the applications that require rugged computers.

Apply the SEL-3351 in the following ways:

  • Connect a video monitor, keyboard, and mouse to provide an HMI for alarm annunciation, local indication, control, and configuration.
  • Communicate with multiple SCADA masters and local systems using different protocols, including OPC Client and OPC Server.
  • Use the SEL-5040 Power System Report Manager to detect, gather, and summarize relay event reports.
  • Gather time-tagged events from SEL relays and I/O processors to serve as a station-wide Sequential Events Recorder (SER). Forward data to a system-level computer for system-wide SER.
  • Perform automatic control using SELOGIC® control equations in SEL relays, communications processors, and controllers, and software logic in the SEL-3351.
  • Concentrate data from relays, communications and logic processors, and other devices; forward information to multiple master data users, for example, SCADA, EMS, Power Quality, and Equipment Maintenance systems.
  • Install a complete SEL-7000 Integrated Substation System for control, automation, monitoring, and protection, which includes an SEL-3351 System Computing Platform. Implement the appropriate applications to meet your requirements.
  • Use SEL Engineering Services to develop a custom solution for your application.

SEL-1102 Computing Platform SEL-1102 Computing Platform
Deploy the SEL-1102 with a 733 MHz Transmeta or a 1.1 GHz Pentium M processor in applications where you want to choose an operating system.  The SEL-1102 is primarily intended for sale to value-added resellers (VARs). The value that they add includes installing the operating system and applications software, and initializing databases for specific end-user applications. Some end users are internal integrators, or “super users,” with personnel capable of installing an operating system and integrating their own systems. Or, if you are an end user that works with a third-party integrator, consider specifying SEL-1102 hardware to your integrator.

Install your software in the SEL-1102 hardware for the following example applications and more.

  • Connect a video monitor, keyboard, and mouse to provide an HMI for alarm annunciation, local indication, control, and configuration.
  • Connect to communications processors in a substation to convert relay data to a legacy protocol for a SCADA master. Use data from SEL relays and other devices instead of lower-reliability remote terminal units.
  • Use the SEL-5040 Power System Report Manager to detect, gather, and summarize relay event reports.
  • Gather time-tagged events from relays and I/O processors to serve as a station-wide Sequential Events Recorder (SER). Forward data to a system-level computer for system-wide SER.
  • Perform automatic control.
  • Concentrate data from relays, communications and logic processors, and other devices; forward information to multiple master data users, for example, SCADA, EMS, Power Quality, and Equipment Maintenance systems.
  • Install soft-PLC software for local automatic control.
